Who books spoken English in the UAE, and why
Most people who book spoken English here are already surrounded by the language every day. They just want to speak it without hesitating. The reason they walk in usually falls into one of four groups.
Multinational workplaces. Sit in an office in the UAE and your colleagues might be from India, the Philippines, Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, the UK and the Emirates, all in one team. English is the bridge between them. You can be excellent at your job and still go quiet in a meeting because forming the sentence out loud, in real time, is a different skill from understanding it. If your goal is to speak up in reviews, lead a call or move into a role with more client contact, this often runs alongside Business English.
Service, retail and hospitality. Front desk, cabin crew, salon, restaurant floor, real estate, clinic reception. You deal with customers from everywhere and you need to be understood the first time, not the third. Being clear and easy to follow is part of the job, and it is the fastest thing to improve with practice.
Jobseekers. The interview is in English, and a stronger spoken level simply widens where you can apply. When the role also asks for a test score, we point you to IELTS coaching, but for most jobs it is plain fluency that gets you through the conversation and the offer.
New residents. You have just landed in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah and you want daily life to feel easy: the bank, the landlord, the school run, a taxi. Plenty of newcomers take spoken English to settle in faster, and some pair it with Arabic for expats to pick up the greetings and courtesies that open doors here.
Your level, from A1 to C2
Every learner starts at a different point, so the first thing we do is find yours. English is measured on a six-step scale called the CEFR, from A1 at the very start to C2 at the top. Here is what each level lets you do and who usually sits there.

Most working adults in the UAE sit somewhere between A2 and B2, and the useful jump is usually one clear level, for example from getting stuck at B1 to holding your own at B2. Real conversation
You talk about work, the weekend and your plans until forming a sentence out loud stops feeling like translation. Fluency first, grammar tidied as we go.
Pronunciation that lands
The UAE is a city of many accents. We work on the sounds, word stress and rhythm that get you understood the first time, whoever is listening.
Phone and meeting talk
The hardest setting, because there is no lip-reading on a call and no time to prepare. We rehearse phone calls, video meetings and speaking up when it is your turn.
Listening to every accent
You already hear Filipino, Indian, Arab, British and American English in a single day. We train your ear so fast speech and unfamiliar accents stop throwing you.

Everyday UAE situations you will handle
Good speaking practice is not abstract. It is the exact moments where getting stuck actually costs you something, so we rehearse them until they feel routine.
- A job interview in English. HR asks about your experience and you answer in full, confident sentences instead of one-word replies. We run mock interviews for the roles you are actually chasing.
- A clinic or DHA visit. Describing symptoms to a doctor, understanding the instructions you are given, and getting through a DHA or medical fitness appointment without needing everything repeated.
- The landlord and your Ejari. Asking about the deposit, the chiller charges and maintenance, questioning a contract clause, and sorting the Ejari or a renewal without being talked over.
- A client or a customer. Closing a sale, calming a complaint, explaining a bill or a delay in a way that keeps the person on your side.

Group, one-to-one or online
There is no single best format. There is the one that fits your level, your schedule and your budget. Here is the honest trade-off between the three.
Group classes
Cheapest per hour, and you get real practice speaking with other people, which is the point. Best if you are comfortable learning in a small batch and want steady progress without the highest fee. You move at the group’s pace.
One-to-one
Fastest progress and every minute is yours. The trainer works only on your gaps, your accent and your job. Best if you are shy, have a deadline, or need very specific practice such as a promotion pitch or an interview next week.
Online
Same class from home or the office, evenings and weekends included, no commute across the emirates. Best for busy professionals and anyone away from a centre. Group and one-to-one both run online, and the results are the same.

What spoken English costs in the UAE
Across the UAE, group spoken English courses generally run from about AED 650 for a short beginner batch to around AED 3,000 for a longer or more advanced programme. One-to-one sessions usually sit between roughly AED 100 and AED 300 per hour, depending on the trainer and how many you book. Those are the market ranges you will see quoted around Dubai and the northern emirates, not a fixed price list.
What moves the number is straightforward: how many hours you take, how big the group is, whether you want one-to-one attention, the trainer’s experience, and online against in-person. A large group at a low fee gives you less talk time each, which is the very thing you are paying to get. A private course costs more per hour but often reaches your goal in fewer weeks. How fast you will see a difference
Sooner than most people expect for confidence, longer for a full level jump. Both are normal.
The first thing to shift is hesitation. With two sessions a week and a little practice in between, most learners are speaking in fuller sentences and freezing less within three to four weeks. That alone changes how a meeting or a customer chat feels. Moving a whole CEFR level, say from B1 to a steady B2, is a bigger job and usually takes a couple of months of regular classes, because fluency grows with talk time and there is no shortcut around actually speaking.
The learners who improve fastest are the ones who use their English straight away outside class: ordering in English, taking the call they would normally avoid, saying the thing in the meeting. 1I can read and write English fine. Why can I not speak it?
Because speaking is a separate skill. Reading gives you time; speaking asks you to build the sentence, get the sounds right and keep going, all at once, with someone waiting. It feels harder because it is different, and it improves quickly once you get regular talk time, which is what these classes are built around.
2What level do I need to start?
Any level, including complete beginner at A1. We teach from A1 right up to C2. The demo places you on that scale so you join a batch or a one-to-one plan that fits, rather than one that is too fast or too slow.
3Are classes online or in person?
Both. Live online classes are popular with working professionals in the UAE for the evening and weekend timings and no commute, and in-person classes are available where a centre is nearby. Group and one-to-one run in either format, with the same results.
4How much do spoken English classes cost in the UAE?
